FEASIBILITY SURVEY WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR FOR UTILIZING JAPANESE TECHNOLOGIES IN ODA PROJECTS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF PREVENTIVE ELDERLY CARE AND HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM FOR WELFARE

 

KAGOSHIMA, September 3 - September 7 – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halimatus Sakdiah Minhat (Head, Medical Gerontology Laboratory, MyAgeing) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahimah Ibrahim (Head, Department of Human Development and Family Studies, Faculty of Human Ecology) has been conducting training in Japan for the purpose of cooperation project under the Official Development Development Assistance (ODA) funded by the Japan International Coopertion Agency (JICA). The project involved a collaboration between Kaigonomori Corp. Ltd with UPM (MyAgeing) and Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM). The training included a visit to a care facility or center under the management of the company Kaigonomori, Ministry of Health and Kagoshima University. As a result of training and visits, it is expected to assist the Kaigonomori and JICA in identifying senior citizens' careers in Japan that can be applied among the elderly in Malaysia.
