Serdang, 26 May– Faculty of Design and Architecture in collaboration with the MyAgeing® (Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing), successfully co-organised the Idea Presentation Workshop: Ergonomic Hand Tool Design for Older Persons.
The workshop brought together final-year students from the Department of Industrial Design to pitch their innovative ergonomic hand tool concepts tailored for older adults. This initiative provided students with a unique opportunity to integrate design thinking with real-world ageing challenges.
For Universiti Putra Malaysia, the workshop served as a valuable platform to strengthen inter-faculty collaboration and further its mission of supporting active and healthy ageing through research and innovation. Selected ideas from the workshop will serve as potential foundation for future research and development projects.
As part of an ongoing series, this collaboration also marks MyAgeing® continued commitment to nurturing design-driven solutions that empower Malaysia’s ageing population.
