25 September 2024, Kuala Lumpur - Dr. Julitta Elizabeth Onabanjo, UNFPA Country Representative for Malaysia and Country Director for Thailand, visited the Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing (MyAgeing®), Universiti Putra Malaysia to familiarise herself with the work of the Implementing Partner (IP) on Population Dynamics and Ageing. The visit began with a meeting and discussion with the Director where a history of the Institute’s development and partnership with UNFPA were presented. After a discussion on other potential collaborations, Dr. Julitta took a brief tour of the Institute’s laboratory facilities and interacted with some senior citizens who were at MyAgeing® for different activities. She was joined by Ms. Shiau Yun Chong, Programme Analyst and Mr. Mohamad Sufian Mohamad Salleh, Programme Assistant, UNFPA Malaysia country office during the short visit.

 

 

 

Dr. Puvaneswaran Kunasekaran, Head, Social Gerontology Laboratory, Dr. Mohd Nazim Mokhtar, Head, Medical Gerontology and Gerontechnology Laboratory and Dr. Rohasliney Hashim from the Faculty of Forestry and Environment participated in the meeting and discussion with Dr. Julitta Onabanjo.
