Industry Definition

UPM is interested in collaborating with all types of industries. However, only certain types of industries will be taken into account in UPM's Key Performance Indicator (KPI) report. Among the types of industries that will be considered in the calculation of annual KPIs are as follows: (a) Private Companies - Government Link Companies (GLCs) - Public Listed Companies (PLCs) - Multi-National Companies (MNCs) - Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) (b) Government Agencies (Ministries, Departments, etc.) (c) Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) - Associations, Organizations, etc. All universities or educational institutions, whether domestic or international, will not be included in the KPI report except for PTJs that are granted exceptions. Centers / Institutes / Offices owned by NGOs / Private / Government placed within universities are defined as Industries. (example: Asian Fisheries Society at UIPM, IRRI at UPLB)
