Soilless Agriculture (PeTaH) Vegetables and Bee Farming

The Citi-UPM Financial Empowerment Program for Mature Women Through the Development of Integrated Soilless Agriculture (PeTaH) Vegetables and Stingless Bee Farming Entrepreneurship aims to encourage mature women from the B40 group to venture into agriculture, entrepreneurship, and financial management. This program can help participants become more competitive in business, assist families in overcoming economic and financial problems, and enhance food security.

The program has also developed senior entrepreneurs as Malaysia is in the process of aging, with the aim of having 15 percent of the population aged 60 and above.

Through this program, participants have successfully completed 26 training modules in personal financial management, entrepreneurship development, stingless bee farming, and hydroponic vegetable cultivation. In addition to hydroponic farming and stingless bee farming activities, participants were also trained in developing downstream products such as stingless bee-based soap and commercial vegetable bouquets. Despite being mature and elderly, the participants' abilities are outstanding and comparable to those of younger individuals.

Congratulations to all participants who received the Appreciation Certificate and Completed Training Certificate for the PeTaH 2022 Program. May it serve as a catalyst and motivator in their efforts to continue practicing the knowledge and skills acquired with their communities, especially and the whole society in general.
