Serdang, 22 October – MyAgeing® is hosting a two-day event on 22 and 23 October as part of its Digital Literacy Program for Older Persons, an initiative aimed at equipping older Malaysians with essential digital skills. The program enables participants to confidently navigate online platforms and stay connected with their communities.
The program offers user-friendly, step-by-step modules that allow older persons to self-learn how to use smartphones and apps, with a strong focus on practical applications for everyday life. Participants also receive hands-on experience and guidance on digital safety, including strategies to identify and avoid online scams.
The initiative has been recognized with an Honorable Mention at the Healthy Aging Prize for Asian Innovation (HAPI) Awards 2024, highlighting its success in bridging the digital divide and empowering older Malaysians.
Supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Malaysia, MyAgeing® aims to expand the program further across communities. By combining self-learning modules with personalized support from trained digital mentors, the program ensures that older persons are equipped with the skills, confidence, and tools needed to thrive in a digital world.
