15 April 2024 (Monday), Serdang - The Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing (MyAgeing), UPM welcomed a Hebei higher education delegation from China this week. The high-ranking delegation was led by Ms. Wang Junhua, Deputy Party Secretary of Hebei's Provincial Education and Work Committee with six other distinguished guests from Hebei Open University, Hebei University of Engineering, Hebei Vocational University of Industry and Technology and Hebei GEO University. A senior leader of the Hebei Provincial Department of Education, Ms. Wang has expressed interest for closer research collaboration and exchange of staff and student between the institutions of higher learning, specifically plans for an MOU between Hebei Open University and Universiti Putra Malaysia in the area of lifelong learning for older persons. The delegation was received by the Director, Associate Professor Dr. Rahimah Ibrahim together with the Head of Social Gerontology Laboratory, Dr. Puvaneswaran Kunasekaran and Mr. Chai Sen Tyng, Research Officer.
