Serdang, 3 October – The Adult Development and Ageing (ADA) Course organized by the University of the Third Age (U3A) Malaysia in collaboration with the Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing (MyAgeing®), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), concluded today after six highly interactive and insightful online sessions.
Since its commencement in August, participants have explored a wide range of ageing-related topics encompassing psychosocial aspects, mental health, nutrition, community roles, and the use of technology in the lives of older persons. The program has had a significant impact on enhancing participants’ understanding of the ageing process while empowering them to take a more active role within their communities.
The final session, titled “Overcoming Technophobia: Simple Steps to Get Started,” was delivered by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Nazim Bin Mohtar, Deputy Director of MyAgeing®. The session provided participants with a step-by-step guide to overcoming fear of technology and using it as a tool to simplify daily life. Participants gave positive feedback and expressed excitement in trying out the new approaches introduced during the class.
The ADA 2025 Course not only equipped older persons with new knowledge and skills but also fostered the spirit of lifelong learning — a key principle of the U3A initiative.
As a continuation of these efforts, MyAgeing® invites all participants and members of the public to visit the exhibition “Older Persons, Faces of Our Future,” which is being held throughout the month of October. The exhibition also features more information about U3A programs and upcoming learning opportunities.
