SERDANG, 12 MARCH 2023 – Dementia Elderly Care Workshop First Series  is organised by the Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing (MyAgeing™), UPM, and the LRGS project: Transforming Cognitive Frailty into Later-Life Self-Sufficiency (AGELESS).

This workshop was held to provide exposure to CAREGIVERS of the elderly with dementiathrough the sharing of knowledge, skills, and experience by a speaker/facilitator experienced in the care of the elderly with special needs, namely Madam Faezah Ali, Nurse Manager of Sri Mesra Elderly Care Center and author of the book “Our Story: I am the caretaker of grandma”.

During this workshop, 13 participants were exposed to NGOs and government agencies that assist elderly caregivers. Aside from that, participants were able to share their experiences caring for elderly people with dementia and how to manage them in terms of nutrition, social care, treatment, and spirituality.
